Eligibility & Requirements
  • Minimum of two years of experience in a hospital or outpatient facility as a Wound Care Assistant or in an equivalent clinical role
  • Minimum of 200 hours of active skin and wound care practice per year for the previous two years
  • Proof of 20 CME/CEU Wound Care Credits obtained through relevant wound care training or continuing education programmes
  • Completion of Core Competencies in Wound Care, verified and endorsed by the employer, Medical Director, or Programme Manager validating clinical experience as detailed in the Core Competency Checklists
  • Eligible Positions: Hyperbaric Technician, Diver Medical Technician, Medical Assistant, Respiratory Therapist, Certified Nurse Aide, EMT/Paramedic, Life Support Technician, Physician Assistant, Registered Nurse or LPN, Nurse Practitioner, Physician, Veterinarian, Podiatrist, Physical Therapist
  • 135 multiple-choice questions
  • Certification duration: Continuous
  • Must take the exam within one year of approval; failure to test within the timeframe results in forfeiture of the fee.
